American Welding Society (AWS)
The American Welding Society (AWS) is a non-profit industrial organization whose goal is to advance the science, technology, and application of welding and related joining disciplines. Welding is a process used in countless applications, and is an essential skill in all industrialized nations. Lincoln Tech’s AWS Student Chapter is an active member in the American Welding Society. Lincoln Tech works with experienced members of its local AWS Sections to promote welding and enhance career opportunities. The AWS is active at Lincoln Tech’s Columbia, Denver, East Windsor, Grand Prairie, Indianapolis, Melrose Park, Nashville and South Plainfield campuses.
Electronic Systems Professional Alliance (CEDIA/ESPA)
The Electronic Systems Professional Alliance (ESPA) is a well-known credentialing body for professional electronics technicians in the United States. Students from Lincoln Tech’s Electrical and Electronic Systems Technician (EEST) program take the ESPA certification exam during course EEST212, the final module of the program. This exam is given at each of our campuses that offer the EEST program: Union and Mahwah, NJ, Columbia, MD, Marietta, GA, Melrose Park, IL, Indianapolis, IN, and Queens, NY.
Miele, Inc.
Miele, Inc. has a strong and established presence in the kitchenware and appliance industry. Their products utilize high-end technology to create sophisticated appliances for custom kitchens, and they are very popular among clientele for their elegant design and superior quality. Lincoln Tech’s Mahwah, NJ campus trains HVAC and EEST technicians in the special skills needed to repair and maintain these high-tech kitchen devices.
The Miele Specialized Training Appliance Installation and Repair (STAIR) program is taught within a specialized training kitchen sponsored by Miele that is fully outfitted with refrigerators, dishwashers, range hoods, coffeemakers and more. Many Lincoln Tech graduates have been hired by Miele to work on these same appliances.
NASA HUNCH
NASA’s HUNCH program allows students at schools across the country to participate in the design and fabrication of products for NASA. The program aligns with Lincoln Tech’s Advanced Manufacturing Program at the Mahwah, NJ campus, where, students use their CNC programming and machining skills to create specialized fasteners for a custom-designed NASA storage locker that is now part of International Space Station. Students also learned how to document their work according to NASA specifications.
