This legislation will initially invest $1.2 Trillion dollars in national infrastructure. Half of this investment will be dedicated to the building of roads, bridges, and other major infrastructure projects. These are projects that will rely heavily on both the operation and the maintenance of tracked and advanced types of machinery. Heavy Equipment Mechanic Training
Heavy equipment mechanic training at Lincoln Tech will help you build professional experience while you work side-by-side with industry-experienced instructors. You鈥檒l learn to troubleshoot, repair and maintain the electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, drive train, steering and suspension systems on a wide variety of rigs. Heavy equipment includes trucks, heavy-duty machinery, off-road equipment, construction equipment and more.

Heavy Equipment Operator Training Program
Training for this essential skill is offered as either a stand-alone program, Heavy Equipment Operator, or as an additional program to augment your skillset after graduating from either the Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technology or the Heavy Equipment Service Technology program. This essential skill is experiencing a nationwide 5% annual job growth, which equates to 45,000 job openings per year out to 20302. The Heavy Equipment Operator program is offered at Lincoln Tech鈥檚 South Plainfield, NJ and Nashville, TN campuses.
Students will learn core craft skills & safety procedures, as well as how to identify different kinds of heavy equipment. Then the student will learn basic operational techniques, utility tractors, introduction to earthmoving, and interpreting civil drawings. Finally, students will operate a variety of mobile, off鈥恟oad equipment in a simulated environment to perform exercises on excavator and wheeled loader equipment. Simulator exercises include basic controls, loading, and unloading, excavating, and trenching.
