Virtual Tour of Lincoln Tech's Melrose Park Campus
Lincoln Tech takes you on a virtual tour of it’s 90,000 square foot campus in Melrose Park, Illinois, a suburb of the City of Chicago. This campus offers four career training t¶, and employs experienced industry professionals as instructors. The tour introduces five Education staff members who explain in detail how the learning process works in their respective fields.
The Melrose Park campus offers training in two transportation-t¶. The Automotive Technology program covers the major systems in passenger vehicles. The curriculum prepares students to start their careers as entry-level technicians with a sound background of knowledge to build upon at the dealership or independent shop. In addition to the Automotive Technology diploma program, students can pursue an Associate of Applied Science degree in Automotive Service Management. Industry tools for the automotive program are supplied through a partnership with Matco Tools Inc.
The Melrose Park campus offers two skilled trades t¶ for careers in fields that are also in high demand. The Electrical & Electronic Systems Technology (EEST) training program teaches students residential and commercial electrical systems, and students can pursue a diploma or an Associate of Applied Science degree. A fully-wired on-premises “Smart House” is where students enrolled for EEST career training practice the hands-on installation and maintenance of commercial and residential low voltage fire and security systems, home theaters, and smart climate control systems in a structure that looks and feels like a functioning home.
Melrose Park trains welding students in four of the most common types of welding procedures used in the industry. Welding Technology students start their training with Miller Electric’s Augmented Reality system, which familiarizes them with specific welding techniques before moving on to welding various types of metal. The program helps solve the nationwide shortage of skilled welders.
The Medical Assistant program prepares students to excel in the administration of an outpatient medical environment, such as a clinic or doctor’s office. This program teaches students how to operate EKG machines, perform injections, sterilize equipment, take vital signs, read and update medical records, as well as specimen collection and lab testing.
